moving right along into the land of little sleep

Finals are upon us. It's great having this be a team project so that we all have help otherwise we'd be heading off to the loony bin. we got together a few times outside of class, and many (if not all) of the other groups did too. It lookslike everyone is doing a super job and I can't wait to see the final projects. I think our professors will be impressed at the quality I've been seeing.
We've been struggling with the materials. Plastics, glass, any clear smooth surfaces are tough to adheare and not get messy. I did quite a few tests with different glues, adheasives, and thought I had it. But the structure of the displays our group selected is really fragile and working with them today, they kept breaking. I hope they stay together long enough to get us through.
I had planned on sanding the holes on the 3" = 1'-0" display, but forgot them in the garage, so after my Texiles final tomorrow, I'll be pulling that together. Also, we changed the ribbon, so I need to shop for fabric that looks similar to the new ribbon.
on top of that, i was cutting out images for my textiles final and I sliced a big chunk of my thumb tip off, so I'm typing this one-handed, while keeping that thumb hand elevated. It quit throbbing and it's not bleeding through the bandaids so the sliced piece might actually re-attach itself. I hope so because that would make it heal so much faster. What a pain. I guess that's what I get for working when tired and loosing focus. I was thinking about my drafting class and project when the blade slipped. oh and for the first time, I bled on a project, thankfully it was on an image that I had 2 of, so I'm covered. I had to take a break so am using the the time to catch up on this blog. I think, I'll go to bed and get up at 3 am to finish up. Hope that will give me enough time to finish, shower, dress, and get coffee before class in the morning.
Good night and good wishes.

  1. Oh no! Rose, you're going to need an extra break to recover from this semester's injuries! I'm so sorry!

  2. Thanks. It's healing quicker than I thought it would.
