Much needed break

The Kiosk project presentation was Thursday. Glad that's over.

On Wednesday after we'd done our presentations for our Textiles class, we went to lunch and went over our plan for Thursday. We had left our project (the 1'-1'-0" sale box) in the resource library so it wouldn't get damaged during transport. Veera put on the bow and signage tags. Suzanne was taking care of the drawings (plan, section, interior and exterior elevations. I was exhausted but went to A.C. Moore to try to find fabric to match the new ribbon that Veera bought. No luck, so next stop was Walmart. Great. They had some really silky shiney satin and then some brown mesh. The two together was an almost perfect match for Veera's ribbon.

By the time I got home, I was on my second wind, so started right away sanding the rough holes in the 1/4" plexiglass for the 3"=1'-0" display model. It was cold working on it outside, but I finished before it go dark. Then back to the garage to cut a 3'-0" by 9" section for the back support.

Down in the studio, I glued the two pieces with the hole and set them to dry while I put ironed the fabric. But had cut it too small. Thank goodness I had bought extra. Once the fabric was on, then I added the mesh layer. Then ribbon on the edges to memic the ribbon's wire edges.

When everything was dry, I glued the two sections together and let them dry. I was just finishing when my husband came home. He was so sweet and made dinner. It was great getting to spend some time together.

I made it to bed by 10 p.m. and was up at 4 a.m. the next morning. I knew I'd need the extra time to load up everything plus my drafting materials and tools. I also needed extra time to get dress to look professional.
