We thought that Tuesday before the Thanksgiving Holiday would be a work day and desk crit with Prof. Volchansky. Instead we had a peer presentation/crit. So our team pushed it into high gear. We wanted to be as far along as possible so we could get meaningful feedback. We felt confident about our concept of focusing on the gift more than the wrapping, but wrappings makes every gift special.

For the peer crit we presented the following:a 1" - 1'-0" scale model with a display and product, wrapping table, storage, signage, and wall art (displaying the product in use). We also had a mission statement, logo, sketches and a rendered plan drawing.

Happily, the peer criticisms were positive, but not much for us to work with as to ways to improve. The Professors on the other hand did have some feedback for us.
1. They brought up the fact that the bow on top would not be as visible looking at the kiosk from the same floor. From a second floor mall view, it does work well.
2. All the teams really didn't consider the floor and ceiling planes to be manipulated. We didn't and that was an excellent observation.
Immediately after class, we were flooded with new ideas. This is a study model with the walls and windows/entries reversed and different bow/ribbon options.
But we agreed that what we have is strong and just needs to be tweaked as well as completely done again to raise the craft level. Then off to the holidays with 2 of us out of town, and me loving every minute of my son's visit. So for this post: It's a Wrap!
Though I missed the peer crit, I am definitely excited about your idea! I can really get a vision of the space from your model. I imagine walking into this place that is transformed into this exotic world filled with beautiful paper. Can't wait to see the final product!
